I absolutely love Dyad as a theme and find the Featured Content slider gives the site the visual pop my organization so desires. I am perplexed, though, that if the posts in the slider contain links (for example “click here”}nothing happens. When the post title is clicked, the link to the post works; and then once the post is opened, the links within it work. But the same links when displayed in the slider do not. Am I doing something wrong?

The site is https://crfg.org/WordPress/ but as it is still a work in progress, I am not sure it can be accessed.

    Thanks

Dyad uses WordPress excerpts to display the text in the slider.

WordPress automatic excerpts do not render HTML, which is why your “click here” text isn’t working.

Instead, try adding a custom excerpt, and adding your HTML manually there. (If you’re not sure how to do that, switch the main post editor to HTML/Text view and copy out your text with the link.) It should be rendered correctly in the slider when you do that.

If you don’t see the Excerpt box on your post edit screen, make sure it’s checked off in the Screen Options panel.

Let me know how it goes.

Yes! It worked perfectly! (Sorry it took so long to try your advice. I didn’t get the email you had responded)

I’m glad that Kathryn’s advice helped you out! ?? I’m mark this thread as resolved but feel free to start a new one if extra questions come up.
