• The links on the homepage of my blog are not opening unless you right click on them and choose “open in a new tab.” This includes links to posts, external links and menu button links. The only links that do work, are the “date” links under the title of each post- those will take you to the post page.

The links and menu buttons on all other pages of the site are working correctly. This issue only resides on the homepage.

My site is https://hopexchange.com/ and I am using the Twenty Eleven theme.

I have checked other posts, updated all plug-ins, turned off every plug-in and turned them back on (one by one). Nothing I’ve tried has fixed the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

  • Try deleting the theme and then re-installing it. You could also try deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

Hello and thanks for the reply! I have tried deactivating all plugins and that did not solve the problem, but I have not tried reinstalling the theme. I have a lot of customization on my theme. I will loose that if I reinstall- correct?

    Thanks for the help!

It seems to be working fine for me. All the links work normally – eg a single left-click on the “Helpful Links” takes me to https://hopexchange.com/blog/resources-links/. (although it’s quite slow).

Are you sure it’s not more to do with your browser than WP ?

Interesting! I’ve tried Chrome, Safari, IE 11 and Firefox with no luck. I’ve also had a colleague test on Chrome, with the same result. What browser are you using that is working?

    Thanks!

I’m using Firefox ESR v45.4.0 on a Debian Stretch system.
