• Okay…what I’m looking for is simple…at least I think it is. My band’s site (currently under development) is planning on running WordPress. What we are wanting is something along the lines of ::shudder:: myspace were you can list 4 or 5 songs and have them played.

Is there anything out there like this currently? I’m using a widget ready theme. If there isn’t a widget out there, is there something else I could use instead of a widget….

    Thanks.

  • If you don’t mind spending a little dough, you can pickup a copy of Wimpy Player and embed it as a “Executable PHP Widget”. That being said, there might be another “free” flash player that can be embedded in the php widget. I can’t remember the author site, but if you search for executable PHP widget you should find it.

Currently I have the wimpy mp3 player on my site in the sidebar in the php widget and it works great.

Not sure whether it’s better to resurrect a 6 month-old thread or start a new one, but since I have the same question, here goes:

I would also like to use the Wimpy mp3 player on my band’s website. I’m using Mandigo, which is a widget-ready theme, and I’ve installed the Executable PHP Widget and dragged it into my sidebar.

I also downloaded and set up the Wimpy demo player as suggested on their site, and edited all of the generic references in the plug-in code to match my server info (I think…).

Anyway, after completing all this, the following is what shows up in my sidebar where the Wimpy player should be:

“Fatal error: Call to undefined function makeWimpyPlayer() in /www/radionowhere.net/web/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/widgets/execphp.php(24) : eval()’d code on line 1”

I sort of get the basic idea of what that means, but I have no idea how to solve the problem. If anyone out there has a better grasp of what’s happening and could help out, I’d appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Are you still having problems playing the wimpyplayer?
