I was looking to set up a new site for businesses.

Each business would be given their own multisite subdomain for them and their employees to log in to, but the content would be identical to ALL other subdomains except for the header showing the company’s branding.

The only site that wouldn’t duplicate content would be the root domain, where it would give companies the instructions on what I can offer.

Is there an easy mechanism within WP-MS that would allow me to quickly clone all of the content to any new Multisite and have future content updated simultaneously as well?

I’ve used WP for years, but never ventured into MU/MS, so I’m just curious if this can be done before I move ahead.

    I appreciate your help.

    Possible? Yes.

    Good idea? No.

    Why? SEO.

Search Engines hate duplicate content, with the fiery passion of a thousand burning iPads.

All of the multisites and their content will act more as intranets for each of these companies and locked down to (hopefully) make their content invisible to Search Engines.

The only thing available to the search engine crawlers will be the root domain with the basics of the services offered on the site…none of the content I plan on duplicating.

So you said its possible. Is there an easy way to clone a multisite and then make sure that all future posts get put on all of them at once within the system?

    Thanks,

    Nick

I thought I already responded to this thread, but I guess the internet ate it.

I just wanted to say thank you. Those plugins are EXACTLY what I was looking for.

This is why I love this place.
