multisite wrewrite rules gets messed up

  • we have multisite with polylang. most new version everything
    for months it has been that sub-domain sites gets 404 on other pages than frontpage

    the main site has polylang + 3 languages
    sub domain sites don’t see any languages and cannot add them, gives error – unable to add language
    cannot define language to any page in sub domain sites

    when open sub domain site and use wp debug toolbar to clear rewrite cache sites starts to work again

    so what causes this / these errors?
