Multisite works, projects.fubar.com doesn't

  • OK, got WP Multisite working using subdomains.
    *.fubar.com is beautiful.

    Like a moron, I failed to get my project management software to resolve as something other than projects.fubar.com.

    Now I can’t lot into the Proj.Mgt software to resolve the problem (which I think is what I’d have to do). I can’t readily just revert the wildcard httpd & dns configs b/c I have to work through my domain host.

    So… is there a mechanism for allowing given subdomains to ‘pass through’? I figure there might be a similar mechanism for allowing a page address to pass through to non-WP content, but I didn’t find mention of that in the forums, either.

    MMMM, maybe I should have tried the following.

    1. make a new ‘projects’ site, projects.fubar.com
    2. used a page as a static homepage;
    3. Replaced the page’s PHP with the PHP of the project mgt program’s request (index) page, with any file references modified as needed.

    But hopefully there’d be a better way.

    You can do that it you manually add in a subdomain for projects.fubar.com and point it to public_html/projects usually. I did that for a while. Works fine. If it’s NOT working, it’s your httpd.conf setup, and you may need to move the wildcard to the bottom, BELOW the call to projects.
