Hello, Please help after reviewing below my present set up and links.
    Set up:
Wordpress latest + multiste + domain mapping plugin + subdomain (2) + wildcard ssl for main site + 2 standard ssl for 2 external domain + woocommerce + simple ssl + insecure content fixer.
    Issue:
Main Multi Site : https://fishingkitesetc.com which has 2 subdomain and wildcard installed.
    subdomains: antifatigueboatmats.fishingkitesetc.com & electricdredgereelsetc.fishingkitesetc.com – both redirected to respective main domains antifatigueboatmats.com & electricdredgereelsetc.com.

main site works perfect. sub sites works fine in functionality wise, but no images are loaded. Enabled disable all plug ins and spoke to hosting (GODADDY VPS) couldnt find an solution.

When i view page source / elements links are calling from the image folder / path exactly where those images are present, however they do not load.

typical error in page element: Failed to load resource: net::ERR_INSECURE_RESPONSE

*i have used your plug in and did all noted installation & correction guide however this did not solve mine issue. Please HELP. Much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Vassi

The subdomains are getting the certificate for electricdredgereelsetc.com, no wildcard, so they get a warning when you visit them on https. If you want the subdomains to load OK on https, you will need to either use individual certificates for them or a wildcard certificate on the base domain; the certificate there now doesn’t support wildcards.

Once I get to the mapped domains antifatigueboatmats.com and electricdredgereelsetc.com, I don’t see any problems. Did you fix something? Please resolve this topic if you did.

    cheers,

Ah, your mapped domains are still showing images from the unmapped subdomains. And your unmapped subdomains are using the base domain’s certificate which does not have wildcard support.

    Two fixes then:

    • fix your domain mapping so that images are loaded from the mapped domain, not the unmapped subdomain
    • use a wildcard certificate on your base domain (you need to do that anyway if you’re redirecting from the unmapped subdomain to the mapped domain on https)

    cheers,

Thanks for the heads up webaware,

main site has wildcard ssl installed and works fine. 2 subdomain is covered under this ssl + main site front domain.

Now i have 2 domain mapped to those 2 subdomains. Both when i checked even now has NO IMAGES DISPLAYED. on front home page. Just checked in SAFARI & CROME browsers.
    https://electricdredgereelsetc.com
    https://antifatigueboatmats.com
I know that the data they get is from their respective subdomains under https://fishingkitesetc.com.

Coming to your base domain wildcard: My base domain is FishingKitesEtc and that has wildcard issued & used. So i do not know now what to do to make sure those images display and functionality remains as it is without any errors.

    Much Appreciated.
    Thanks

    Dear Ross,
By the time i sent you the reply, i could see your second message, Thanks for your help, let me answer that.

I have domain mapping plug in. In main site FishingKitesEtc i have added 2 subdomains as stated and using domain mapping plug in i set up those subdomains to connect to mapped domains.

In C panel i have *.fishingkitesetc.com and wildcard SSL is issued for this only.
rest 2 domains has separate standard ssl. Now you are telling me that my domain is not mapped correctly? Do i need to get out of domain mapping plug in? base site? subdomain?
please help me what you exactly meant.

    Thanks & much appreciated.

When I visit https://electricdredgereelsetc.fishingkitesetc.com in Google Chrome, I get a certificate for electricdredgereelsetc.com with no wildcards. You’ll need to speak to GoDaddy about your server configuration, because those subdomains are serving up a different certificate than the base domain.

Yes, If i am correct, you cannot access that link of subdomain since it auto redirect you to electricdredgereelsetc.com with https which has standard ssl.

If i remove that standard ssl on that domain i get SSL error saying SSL belong to stated subdomain than domain.

Hope i am answering you correctly to make you understand my situation.

    Thanks

Before it redirects, it first must obtain an HTTPS connection and that requires validating the certificate. The certificate being sent for the subdomains is the single-site certificate for the base domain, not the wildcard certificate. You need to speak to GoDaddy about correctly configuring the certificates on your domains.

Re: multisite mapping, you should open a support topic for the mapping plugin. It should be serving images from the mapped domains, but it is actually serving them from the subdomains. It’s probably a setting, but that’s something to take up with that plugin’s authors.

Now, i set up just a multisite with domain mapping and ssl certificate: main site has wildcard & subdomain pointing domains has separate standard ssl.

antifatigueboatmats.com – exactly back to the same where we started. no logo displayed.
Another subdomain is not set as primary – electricdredgereelsetc.fishingkitesetc.com
    Displays the logo.

So, not sure why the moment it pointed to domain, it breaks the image?

Just worried of this entire process with no end or solution.
    Thanks

I can’t examine that because the name doesn’t resolve (DNS). I suggest you learn how to diagnose the errors by looking in your browser console; I recommend Google Chrome. There are links to instructions for the various browsers and other test tools here:

    Hi All,

I am not able to upload the images as https: on the website. I set up just a multisite with domain mapping and ssl certificate. I have bought the Multi-domain SSL to set up.

I have a parent site and 2 childe sites with the domain mapping.

I still see the Padlock issue on the website. I checked the websites and the problem is images URLs are not with https://

    Please help me.

    Best regards,
