I installed multisite for my wordpress site. I am currently hosting this locally. The installation went without an issue. However, when I try to create a new website, I am unable to access the dashboard. For instance when I create the url for the website called test2 I see that the default link created is “localhost:8080/wordpress2/test2”
However, when I try to access the website, the url shows “localhost8080/wordpress2/test2”. The error shown says “localhost8080” cannot be accessed. I have no idea why it is dropping the colon between localhost and 8080. When I do add the colon, it says that the page “localhost:8080/wordpress2/test2” does not exist. I am not sure what is happening
I configured my .htaccess and wp-config files appropriately

See official Multisite documentation: Before You Create A Network

    Restrictions #Restrictions
You cannot create a network in the following cases:

“WordPress address (URL)” uses a port number other than ‘:80’, ‘:443’.

There are some work arounds, but that’s not officially supported — only ports 80 and 443 are supported.
