• I have a small multisite setup (about half a dozen sites). It’s been running fine for years. I upgraded all themes and plugins (no problems) but when I went to upgrade to WordPress 6.1 I have encountered a problem.

The initial upgrade worked fine, but when it came time to “Upgrade Network” I get this error:

    Upgrade Network
    https://needful.nz
Warning! Problem updating https://needful.nz. Your server may not be able to connect to sites running on it. Error message: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds

There is no problem with the site needful.nz. The site is working as expected and I can log into the admin interface.

It’s also not something specific about that site. If I deactivate it, I get the same error for the next site.

I’ve never had problems with upgrades before, I’m not seeing any errors in the logs and am not quite sure how to debug.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • The server you are hosting the site on can’t seem to resolve the named domain in DNS. This is a problem with the hosting, which is why I would recommend contacting their support.

That is definitely the problem. Now to figure out why this problem has suddenly appeared? I’m the hosting provider. ??

    Probably something weird with Docker.
