I have Meteor Slides on a multisite and not network activated. After a preliminary test, I decided to change the settings. Since then, the “Slides” link in the Dashboard is not present. Accessing “Settings” from “Plugins” says user does not have permission to access settings. Deactivated and reactivated the plugin without success. I do not have this access problem as a network administrator or on another subsite. How can I get Meteor Slides working on the first subsite?

After reading further in the Meteor Slides documentation, I found that the Members plugin is recommended in conjunction with Meteor Slides. I am using Members only to make the subsite in question private. When I deactivated Members, the “Slides” link for Meteor Slides reappeared. I was hoping to not change roles from standard in this multisite but now am guessing a change in Members settings is needed. Note: The “Slides” link visibility issue occurs with a user with administrator capabilities for the subsite in question. So now my question is, “What is the minimum setting needed through the Members plugin to get the Meteor Slides “Slides” link visible and functional?

If Members and Meteor Slides are both active, Meteor Slides uses custom capabilities for managing the slideshows and slideshows options.

To use Meteor Slides when you have Members active, all you have to do is add those custom capabilities to the role that you want to use Meteor Slides with. So you could edit the admin role in the role editor and add the capabilities for Meteor Slides.

The latest version of Members makes this really easy through capabilities groups. Version 1.5.6 of my plugin has a custom capabilities group for Meteor Slides, to make it easier to manage these with Members.

Let me know if you have more questions, or you run into any issues using this with multisite.

Josh, thanks very much. I granted all the Meteor Slides capabilities to the administrator role and now I can access the “Slides” link. Again, thanks a lot.
