• Hi,
I have a multisite subdomain install and use domainmapping (so subdomain https://subname.mymultisite.com is mapped to https://www.subname.com).

I’m looking for a sitemap plugin that uses the mapped domainname as url instead of the subdomain url.

In Google webmaster tools I get the error because of the subdomain url instead of the mapped domainname:
    URL not allowed
This url is not allowed for a Sitemap at this location.

    My questions are:
    1. Is this something to worry about?
    2. Is there a sitemap generator plugin that allows for using the mapped domain name.

Yoast WordPress SEO does it just fine for me ??

Thanks the sitemap shows with the correct domainnames.

The other SEO functionality is a bit more complex though. Have to study for the right SEO settings.

There are probably some sitemap only plugins that can do it, but since Yoast’s included it, I kind of left it alone.

FWIW, you don’t need a sitemap, unless you have a lot of pages that aren’t linked to.

Thanks, I tend to believe that it is good to use them.

I noticed that a new website is faster indexed by Google if you provide a sitemap via Google Webmaster tools.

Well that’s true ?? But once your site’s index’d, as long as you don’t change all your URLs, it doesn’t matter.
