Multisite shared media library

    Hi there!

    I’ve read that some issues regarding multisites have been addressed but i have not found one for this particular one.

    First of all let me congratulate you on an awesome job with this plugin!

    So, I’m setting up a multisite network and was wondering if it is possible, in any kind of way, to have one single enhanced media library shared with all sites on the network.

    Al sites revolve around the same topic, so there will be a lot of images that will be used over many sites. Even the categories and MIME type should be shared.

    Sort of a shared media repository, instead of a per-site library.

    Is this possible?

    I don’t mind getting my hands dirty with some code, though I’m farily new to the wordpress environment.

    Any suggestions?

    Sorry for so late reply!

    Right now the Enhanced Media Library can’t provide what you are looking for. But thanks for your suggestion, we have added this idea to our TODO list to consider its implementation.

    There is a plugin called Network Shared Media that seems to be able to do the job for you.

    Hi Nadia,
    is there a chance the suggestion of klopapeiro will be added to your plugin shortly?
    I investigated the plugin Network Shared Media, but there is a real drawback with this plugin: it’s functionality doesn’t extend to the Featured Image selection tool. For that reason, it’s less useful for me.

    Unfortunately, I cannot say anything about this certainly. But thank you about asking about this again. We are revising our TODOs priority all the time. The more users ask us about something the higher priority it has for us. Hope, we will be able to inform you soon that it’s implemented.
