Multisite: Share images over th network

    Hi,

    In my multisite network, I would like to go to the media in any of the sites and see what is uploaded to my bucket. Right now it seems that even though the same bucket is connected to each site, I still have to upload the same images on every site. Is that really the expected behavior or am I missing something?

  • Yes, that is expected behavior. The media library is separated in each site on multisite.

    @alimuzzamanalim Why is that expected behavior?

    If I have a multisite where all sites are language version of the same content, I will have to upload the same images to the blob storage again and again. Why not take advantage of the fact that all sites use the same shared media storage. Now we’re just adding an unnecessary layer of redundancy, just as if the media library wasn’t external as in a normal multisite.

    This is expected behavior because this is how WordPress handles media. Each site has it’s own media and the media meta is not shared across sites. The same approach is applied to all other content, including posts, taxonomies, etc.
