• Hi,
I’m just feeling my way around 3.0 and am in love with the multisite feature. I am launching a main blog that will support a network of blogs that serve the same industry in different regions of the country.

Although each child blog would have it’s own unique content, I would like to have a few features from the parent blog that would be common among all of the new child blogs. For instance, I would like the header’s sub-title to appear on all of the blogs, as well as two or three links and some text, maybe in the widget area. I would like these features to appear as soon as the child blog is installed. How can I easily do this?

Thanks in advance for the help!

  • look up this plugin:
    YD Network-wide options

How can I easily do this?

hardcode it in the theme itself.

the plugin listed above does state it has issues when the number of sites passes 40.

    Thanks Sayze35 and Andrea.

I will most definitely surpass the 40 site mark. Andera, is there a block of code that you could refer me to, with some instructions on how/where to put and configure it?

    Thanks!!

hardcode it in the theme itself.

Hmmm. What if I had, let’s say 20 theme options for them to choose from, would I have to code each of those themes as well, or just the parent theme?

There isn’t a free solution for this right now.
