• I have example.com and there is already a site on it. A want to have a multisite install based on language, so like example.com/en/, example.com/es/, etc. But the root directory already has a site and if I put in in a folder, I can only do example.com/blog/en/, etc.

How do I get it installed without removing the current site (which is not wordpress, just html/css) and be able to get those different directories with a multisite install?

  • Hey there,
sounds a bit complicated, why not just convert the main site to WordPress? you can only deeper, so if you install WP in a sub-directory, subsequent sites will be example.com/main/es etc.
if the sites are related, makes sense to convert everything to WP. if they are not, maybe consider taking a different domain/hosting package…?

    hope that helps,

Converting the main site to WP isn’t an option. It’s not a site fit to do in WP and too much hassle. It doesn’t make sense at all. It’s in a directory structure, not subdomain, so different hosting package would also not be a solution.

Anyone who has face the same problem and has a solution?
