Hi, I am relative new to WordPress, and am using it to build a company website, with multi-lingual pages.

So I’ve got the multi-site Network function installed, I can add new sites etc, and also I am using GoDaddy as my host with one registered domain and have set up subdirectories for the different languages (/ch, /en).

I’ve read somewhere to have different themes for different languages you need to install WordPress in those sub-directories as well, which I have.

My question is, I am testing the Network function, is there a way to see the different sites(ie. the subdirectories) without login-in again which i am asked to right now, and leads me to the single wordPress Admin panel ? Or the multi site function just lets u stream line your sites?

I’ve also just randomly created a test subdirectories with no WordPress installed and that does not work as well. if i click on go to sites the 404 (Page Not Found) Error appears.

When setting up, I was asked to copy the lines to my wp-config.php, and web.config… i dont have a htaccess file, and wasn’t asked to, is that the reason why i can’t access my sites?

I haven’t installed the domain mapping plugin yet, and a bit confused to as whether or not i am on the right track?

    Please help! thanks!

    You’re on Windows.

It’s not well supported (that is to say I can count on one hand the number of people who use Multisite on Windows). If possible, switch to Linux. I know GoDaddy lets you.

You read wrong. If you have WP installed separately then you’re not using Multisite.

    Oh! Thank you!

if i switch to Linux, how do i back up what i have currently?
Can’t believe this is creating the problem… after so many hours of trying! Wish there was a warning sign from the beginning!
