Multisite media issues

I have WP 3.2 installed on a server that’s configured correctly for multisite and has a few sites. A few plugins are installed as well. (I’d list them but even with disabling them, the problem persists — still, if someone thinks it would help, I can post them.)

Basically, when adding new media into a post, which by the file structure is located at:

https://site/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2011/07/087.jpg

However, the WP editor shows the URL as:

https://site/files/2011/07/087.jpg

Can anyone assist as to why this is?
