• Hi there,

I have a multisite installation with multiple subsites. WordPress and all plugins are up to date.

The “main” base site is a dummy site; the active sites are all subsites in the multisite installation. Some of the users are active across multiple subsites.

I have had a problem with disappearing avatars for some users. It appears that setting an avatar for a user on one subsite can disable the atavar for that user on the other subsite(s). We need to be able to configure the avatar for User X on subsite Y without it changing or losing the avatar on subsite Z.

Do you have a fix for this? Happy to apply a patch if you have one.
    Cheers.

@kona Thanks for the report. This is a known issue that we are currently working on. You can follow the progress of that on GitHub. Our goal is to have this out in the next release.

Hi again, your latest update has lost all of the avatar images in our bbPress forums on all of our subsites in the multisite installation mentioned above. Do you have a fix for this? I can apply a PHP patch manually if need be.

Just to follow up, using your “Migrate avatars from WP User Avatar to Simple Local Avatars” button in “Discussion Settings” has restored some but not all of the avatars.

It’s difficult to be 100% certain of the fault pattern, but I notice for example that there are filename problems. For example, one missing avatar has the following image url:
    https://domain-redacted/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2020/09/PersonName-90x120-1.jpg

That’s a 404; the filesystem only contains the following uploads:

    ./sites/5/2020/09/PersonName-90x120-1-90x72.jpg
    ./sites/5/2021/10/PersonName-110x147-1-110x72.jpg

This avatar was working properly until your recent plugin update.
