Hello Keith,
Thanks for using Prime Mover! Sorry to hear you have issues with the plugin. The issue is strange since we could not reproduce it in our testing as well as we don’t get any reports from other users with the same issue.
Prime Mover – once activated does not have internal code that could freeze the system or affect file uploads. It’s code is only used when running on-demand backups or restore. There is no active code that is running all the time.
This could be hosting/plugin/theme related issue related but we need to check. But can you please try the following troubleshooting steps to see if it works?
- Deactivate Prime Mover plugin.
- Delete all copies of Prime Mover plugin in the site.
- Once deactivated/uninstalled – please check your site front end and back end and make sure it works fine – no issues. If it’s not displaying properly or you see errors. These issues are caused by somewhere else and not Prime Mover since the plugin is deactivated/uninstalled.
- Also check that the site now accepts file uploads, etc. and that your site is running properly. If the site still have file upload issues – these are not caused by Prime Mover since the plugin is uninstalled/deactivated. Proceed to next step only if the site works and that you have no issues in your site file uploads ,etc.
- Re-install the latest version from www.remarpro.com repository. You can install this by logging into your WordPress admin and go to Plugins -> Add New and search for
Prime Mover
. This will ensure that you are installing a clean copy and not a corrupted version (from uploads ,etc.).
- Once installed in your site – activate Prime Mover plugin (or network activate if multisite). Once activated – don’t yet export or restore a package. Please check if your site is still running fine and you are not able to reproduce the issues you have been seeing.
- Once your site is running fine – you can proceed to export and restore. If you are restoring a package in your target site – please try the package manager approach as this saves bandwidth (especially with file uploads) and does not stress your server during file upload processing (as you will be uploading the package first via
SFTP
and then restore it in package manager.)
If the above steps does not reproduce the issue – then the issue is a glitch and you can continue using Prime Mover. Please close this ticket and mark as resolved.
Otherwise if the issues are still reproducible – we need further information to debug this. Please enable WordPress debugging and send us your site information logs so we will know your site setup, errors in debug logs and check for any incompatible plugins/themes. Also please let us know what steps in the above troubleshooting does the issue is reproducible.
Since these logs includes sensitive information – please don’t publicly instead please send it via our developer contact page. Thank you again!
