• I don’t know how even to start troubleshooting this:

The multisite feed is only displaying posts from some of the blogs on the multifeed, with no rhyme or reason for why certain blogs are not showing up, and others are.

I’m running a multisite WP installation for a class I’m teaching: each student has their own username and their own site. Many of these users’ posts to their personal blogs are showing in the aggregated feed, some are not. I created all the users at once, and there seems to be no issue in terms of ordering (i.e. users who created their blogs earlier don’t necessarily have an advantage over those who started later).

As of right now, there are 27 sites (blogs) on the install.

I have 20 entries per site, max 100 overall, nothing at all in “Exclude blogs” and “Include authors,” have the cache duration set to 1 minute (to keep the feed updated quickly during pre-class crunch times when everybody is reading everybody else’s blogs), and the URL set to network. Everything is pretty standard.

The XML is well-formatted, but it’s also missing posts. (That is to say, I’m sure the problem is in the generated feed, and not in the method of displaying and reading the feed.)

Any suggestions for how to proceed with troubleshooting?

    Thanks!

    Scott

  • If students discourage site indexing then the site won’t populate. You’ve probably figured this out by now but wanted to let you know I was having the same problem and figured out the solution!

Maybe the blogs have different status. The feed is only include posts from public blogs.
