    Hi,

We have a multisite website and use translatepress (latest version) to translate to other languages. We use litespeed caching and litespeed on server (amongst others).

Nevertheless, when the plugin is active on one of the sites (not network activated) the site is extremely slow. It already starts once activating the plugin, immediately the server capacity (4G, 2 cpus) is over the limits. Any idea why? We only serve english and dutch (primair language)…

  • Hello there,

Do you have automatic translation enabled?
Automatic translation will slow the page down on the first load, so the PHP will wait for the translations and then show the page. This only happens once or if you add/change strings.

Also, check out the Browser Console -> Network if there are a lot of calls to trp-ajax.php.
If we detect javascript changes on your page, we’ll try to search for those translations in the database. In some cases we detect some changes that happen again and again, causing a big load on your server.

You can disable it in TranslatePress -> Settings -> Advanced -> Disable dynamic translation

    Best regards,
    Cristian
