I want that user can create their own blog from my site.
So i have use wordpress mu, but in wordpress mu when user create site, 9 new tables automatically added to database.
So if so many user create their own blog than database will so increased.

So it creates any problem or not????

If database have so many tables, it creates any load problem or other database crash problem??

I dont know if table increased than its harmful for sites or not.
Please give me information for this.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I’m not a professional at this but I believe that WPMU can handle a lot of tables. Some blogs reach a thousand blogs. The database can still handle it. An example is wordpress.com – composed of thousands of blogs.

But going back to your question – there will come a time when you would have to adjust the hosting to more significant traffic.

Not. Yes, eventually you’ll need a bigger server, and a better DB, but WordPress.com is running Multisite. It’s okay ??

(ianjayb, it’s Multisite now, not WPMU ?? )

Don’t bump, please, even after 2 days.

There’s a limit on tables per DB, but you have to work hard to get there. But you know, you could look up things like ‘Maximum DB size’ yourself ??
