Multisite, can't access subsites (covered many times but I am still stuck)

  • Not the first time this has been asked but hope to get some clarity.

    Site and its dashboard work. I was able to add a subdomain.mysite.com and it’s listed in Sites but I can’t access the subdomain nor its dashboard. Just get no response, nothing. Propagation shouldn’t be the case if hours have gone by since I added the subdomain and the server wildcard subdomain was added weeks ago in cpanel anyway, correct?

    Main site is installed and working for long time on single install. Added new addon domain – in cpanel – to use for testing multisite (weeks ago actually, in preparation)
    Today copied files, created new db, imported db, went through steps for changing URL in codex, all seemingly fine, even checked DB for mentions of old URL and edited.
    Wild card subdomain set up in cpanel for this addon domain (weeks ago too) and confirmed by host that it exists. All codex steps in creating multisite subdomain followed as best as I can.

    Just get no response, nothing.

    Check whatsmydns.com and see if they’re propagated at all.

    You should get SOME error on your browser, either a message that it can’t find the server or something FROM the server.
