Multisite BuddyPress issues with registration
-
Hey guys,
So I have been using WordPress for a LONG time, but I have never done a multisite… until now!
I have just been messing around with it, trying to get the initial setup running on my local, but I seem to be coming into some issues.
FIRST: Whenever I try and register a new user, it fills out the form perfectly. No problems and sends the activation email.
SECOND: However, after I register… there is no record of the user in the database, although it says successful and sent the email, AND it hasn’t created the subdomain.. fishy. There are no errors to tell me what’s wrong.
Could the fact that BuddyPress didn’t install it’s default theme be an issue? I even tried to install BuddyPress on a regular single WordPress site and it didn’t end up installing the default theme.. am I going mad?
So, since I don’t have the default theme, I opted for the new 2014 WP theme as it seems to work just fine for now… until I got to this issue of the registration
THIRD: I CAN, however, create domains and users from the back office.. This makes me even more frustrated.
Is there ANY advice you guys could provide me with? The documentation for this stuff seems rather lacking, unfortunately, and I have search rather extensively online to no avail.
EDIT: When I try and reregister with the same username and email (after it doesn’t end up putting the user in) it gives me this message.
“That username is currently reserved but may be available in a couple of days.
That email address has already been used. Please check your inbox for an activation email. It will become available in a couple of days if you do nothing.”Thanks for your help!
