    Hello,

I was wondering if there was support for multisite with this plugin, and the ability to have multiple affiliate IDs one one account.

Ideally I’d like a local setup where multisite admins could enter their affiliate code on their own wp-admin, and the plugins all ran off the main installation under one account.

    Is this possible?

If not, what would be the ideal way to get this plugin working on a small multisite network where each site has it’s own affiliate ID?

    Thanks!

    Hi Mike,

Great question. We have something called Group Overrides where you’re able to add a different Associate ID per each group within your Geniuslink account. What you’d want to do is add a Group Override for each site, then when you add the ALE plugin to your WordPress instances, just make sure you sync each one with the correct Group.

For example if I have three sites: Site A, B, C, I’d want to create three groups within my Geniuslink account called Site A, Site B, and Site C. Then, when I add the plugin for each site, I’d sync the plugin to the specific group, which will use the affiliate ID that I’ve added.

Please let me know if you have any questions after reading through that support documentation. Thanks!

    Hi there,

    quick question:

For example I have 2 sites and Amazon associate accounts at numerous Amazon associate programs (com, ca, co.uk etc.). Each Amazon account has 2 different tracking IDs (one for each site).

I have created a Geniuslink account and connected all my Amazon associate programs using tokens. So far so good. There is the default group which serves now that accounts. I have renamed it and created a second group which should serve the second site.

I’m not quite sure how to set custom overrides for the different groups. I can’t use the tokens again. Following the instructions here: https://help.geni.us/support/solutions/articles/3000027557 What should I insert into the field “Paste a link or token from your affiliate program” ? Could you give an example? I would like to set overrides for each group so that I can track everything separately.

    Thank you.

    Cheers,

    Angel

I understand how to create a new link, but there are already thousands of Amazon links on both sites so I need to cover them all.

    Hi Angel,

Good question. Since you have two tracking IDs per country for the different Amazon Associates programs, what you’d do is add one token for each country to each Geniuslink group using the Group overrides mentioned above. So here’s how it looks:

    Amazon.com:
    USID-A
    USID-B

    Amazon.ca:
    CAID-A
    CAID-B

    Amazon.co.uk:
    UKID-A
    UKID-B

    Geniuslink Account:
    SiteA
    SiteB

So when you are creating the Group Overrides, you go to the SiteA group within Geniuslink and add the following:

    USID-A
    CAID-A
    UKID-A (etc)

Then go to SiteB group and add the following:
    USID-B
    CAID-B
    UKID-B (etc)

Then for your two different instances of the actual website, install the ALE and sync Site A to the SiteA group and do the same for Site B with SiteB group.

We will then look at the Associate IDs on each group and use each accordingly to keep your metrics separate.

Let me know if you have any questions about that.

    Thanks!
