Multisite Add New Site Problem

    This is for a site I already had and am attempting (using the word loosely) to turn it into a multisite. I’m a bit new to this and I’ve gone through the steps dozens of times and searched for the problem (unsuccessfully) online. I’ve altered the htaccess file and the config files as instructed. The subdomain function in the config and htaccess files are set to subdomain (I believe…still trying to figure the htaccess file code out). Just to test it I set up a subdomain manually (because I’m having issues with the whole wildcard subdomain thing) in CPanel and added a site with the same subdomain via the WP IDE. All I get when I do that is an Index/config plain html site. So, I go and manually install WP into the Subdomain Folder. Then my themes, and dashboard function. However, it isn’t really fully connected to my network. None of the themes, none of the plugins, etc are there and it is only listed on the “All Site” page. The site doesn’t show up in my sites or on the menu under the “My Sites” drop down menu.

    I have another thread for the issues I’m having with the wildcard problems.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    It’s been a couple of weeks since posting. Have you figured out your issues?

    If not, can you post the entire .htaccess?

    You will need to wildcard subdomain working to make this work. That actually may be the problem. Not all hosts support wildcard subdomains.
