Hi, I have two user roles applied to a user, but the user is not correctly able to have both permissions.

One of the roles allows access to view certain pages. But no editing permissions. (Member Role)
The other role allows access to the dashboard and editing pages and posts. But they cannot see the Member-only pages without the help of the dashboard. (Editor Role)

However, when I apply both roles, the user is not able to see the dashboard or properly edit the posts or pages. The “Edit” button shows up at the bottom of the page, but when I click it, it just redirects to the home page.
Fortunately, there is no trouble seeing the Member-only pages.

Also, under settings I have checked “Allow users to be assigned more than a single role”
And I have unchecked “Denied capabilities should always overrule granted capabilities”

    Hi @verawong1

If you uncheck “Denied capabilities should always overrule granted capabilities” option, then you don’t have any control when a user has one role that grants permission and the other role that denies it. When you check this option this permission will be always denied. I’m not sure if this helps in your case though because you want to overrule grant permissions. In that case, I think the only option would be to create a new role that overrules permissions from Editor and Member roles.

    Best
