    Hi,

First of all thanks for sharing this awesome plugin.

We use the Feed to Post option with default image per feed. After a search on this support forum we do not find answers to our problem:

When a default image is associated with an article, it is uploaded again. We have a significant number of upload for the same image.

How can we solve this problem?

    Thanks for answer.

    Regards.

what is the url of an RSS feed with this problem?

also, no images are uploaded to your server when you use a default image – the image can be on your server or anywhere on the web – all the plugin does is link to that image – it doesn’t download the image to your server.

    Hi,

Here is url of multiple Feeds:

    – Football : https://www.lequipe.fr/rss/actu_rss_Football.xml
    – Atlhetisme: https://www.lequipe.fr/rss/actu_rss_Athletisme.xml
    – Handball : https://www.lequipe.fr/rss/actu_rss_Hand.xml

Each feed has a category, and each category has a default image, as you could see on attached image, the red label is default image category (When rss entry has no picture) and the blue label is the rss entry picture.

The pictures with a red label are uploaded for each entry in the same way as the blue label picture.

    Sorry for bad english..

ok…give me the url of the default image you are using for Football and I’ll try that out….again, my plugin doesn’t add the image to your server – it just points to wherever the image exists.

It can be an image uploaded by us or any other image like that:
    https://www.ciup.fr/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/football.jpg

    This WP is not our.

Here’s ID for multiples images :

    84028-thumb.jpg
    84028-thumb-110×96.jpg
    84028-thumb-150×150.jpg
    84028-thumb-168×137.jpg

    AND

    84055-thumb.jpg
    84055-thumb-110×96.jpg
    84055-thumb-150×150.jpg
    84055-thumb-168×137.jpg

    Are all the same image.

    Thanks for the time.

ok…watch this video…here I take a feed, assign it to a category, put in a default category image (youre), choose to have that category image shown and then check the media folder and, as I said, no images were created

    https://www.screencast.com/t/0J1rKJM8kDIq

That’s because the plugin does not create images (only when the image is chosen as a featured image).

    Hi guys,

Allen, I have the same problem. The plugin doesn’t create new images but it duplicates the default category image in the library. When new feed items are added, default image will be duplicated “thumbs 1201” “thumbs 1202” “thumbs 1203”

It will be a huge issue in few months and it’s not optimized for the SEO because we have to load few times the same image (“thumbs 1201” “thumbs 1202” “thumbs 1203”).

Il will share with you some URLs regarding this issue but for the moment, my website has a restricted access.

    Thank you,

it appears you have the featured image activated in the plugin…as I’ve said, the plugin does not create a thumbs images for the default category – the only place my plugin does that is if you have the featured image activated.

Alternatively, you have another plugin that is doing that (some plugin that handles images) or your wordpress installation is doing this.

    Hi Allen,

Thank you for your feedback. Please can you notify me where I can see the “featured image activated in the plugin” ?

    Hi Allen,

    Thanks for answer.

You’re right, when ‘Excerpt only’ is selected the image is not uploaded.

I guess this is the normal operation of WordPress, it upload every image associated with a new article.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Niiicou

Yes, excerpt is the normal way the plugin works….when you choose to make an image a “featured image” the only way that can work is if the image is uploaded to WordPress. To do this, my code takes the image and uploads it and it becomes part of the WordPress media files attached to the post. This feature was requested by users of the plugin. However, if you only take the excerpt, there are no images uploaded to WordPress…instead, the image is just a link to the external image.
