Multiple templates for a custom post type?

I understand that I can create a single-{posttype}.php file as my template for my custom post type.

But how do I create multiple presentation templates for custom post types that the admin can choose from (like you can for pages)?

I’m thinking of how you can have multiple templates when creating a page (via the page attributes template drop down menu)… but to have it on the custom post type creation page so an admin can input the custom data and select from multiple presentation templates as well…
