The faqs say: “Can I show multiple instances of slider on one page?
Yes you can use multiple slider widgets and slider shortcodes”

However, I’ve tested SS3 on multiple sites with various themes, and I cannot get this to work. Inserting shortcodes into the page, the first slider displays fine, but if I add a second slider below that, it does not display at all — you can only see a spinning disc.

Same thing happens if I put a slider shortcode in the body of the page and try to use the SS3 widget to display a slider in the footer or sidebar. The slider in the body of the page displays fine, but the slider in the widget area does not display. If I remove the shortcode from the body of the page, the slider in the widget area DOES display.

    What’s wrong here?

    Hi @linkomatic

You can use multiple sliders in your pages, as long as all sliders are different. Each slider has a unique HTML id which can’t be duplicated, so if you have more of the same slider on your site, only the first one will work.

If you need to show the specific slider more than once in the same page, I would suggest duplicating it: https://doc.smartslider3.com/article/408-slider-options#duplicate and use two different shortcodes.

I just ran across this in the documentation. It seems like an odd restriction, but oh well.

In any case, I think you should add this limitataion to the FAQs on www.remarpro.com. Would have saved me a bunch of test time! And I wouldn’t have wasted yours. ;0)

    Thanks.

The limitation is actually from HTML’s standards, not from us. You can learn more about it here: https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_global_id.asp

Thanks for the feedback, we’ll change the FAQ ??
