• I recently upgraded my web hosting to allow me to host 20 websites on the same account rather than having separate ones for each site I make. I already had my wordpress site installed in the root of my hosting at danspratt.co.uk. I have built a second site and used an addon domain to direct the domain name to the website. The website is on danspratt.co.uk/hadrianvaleting.com and I have used an addon domain to point hadrianvaleting.com to there. The site works fine but when you click on a page such as gallery, the domain name goes to danspratt.co.uk/hadrianvaleting.com/gallery rather than just hadrianvaleting.com/gallery
How do I edit this to make each page just appear on hadrianvaleting.com/pagename rather than danspratt.co.uk/hadrianvaleting.com/pagename

    Thank you in advance.

    Dan

  • In my opinion, having WordPress sites embedded inside WordPress sites just produces a big jumbled confusing nightmare. It’s much better to do this:

    hosting_root/site_one/
    hosting_root/site_two/
    hosting_root/site_three/

You may have to re-point your original one domain to its new directory, but once done so, it makes hosting multiple domains so much cleaner.

Once I put them into the individual sites, how will I get them to work with eg hadrianvaleting.com/gallery etc. And what will the root domain be if it is currently danspratt.co.uk Apologies for my confusion I have no experience with multiple sites on one host!

Whatever the top level of your hosting directory is called, the root of your hosting, that’s where you’d create your domain roots. So even if that directory is currently called danspratt.co.uk, just create a new directory in there for each domain, including danspratt.co.uk. Then in your hosting panel, simply point each domain to their appropriate directories.
