• Ok my boss recently decided i was going to be our web manager we currently have like 10 websites all looking very different and he want me to use multisite to make them all look the similiar the problem is besides changing a little bit of info from out main site i havent had any experience with workpress. Can someone help me with the basics of making a new site and applying a theme to it. right now i am a network admin. The biggest problem i have is when im trying to make just a simple test site like test.domain.com i cant access that site dash board and i dont know how to go in and change a theme or anything without the dashboard someone please help me!

    So you already have the new multisite installation in place? I would likely start there, but build it in a separate location from your existing sites (in other words, leave the existing sites alone for now). The documentation you can find online on how to set up a multisite environment with a new installation is quite good.

    Then, when you have that set up you can look at adding the sub-sites… Are all of the existing sites WordPress? I like BackupBuddy for migrating sub-sites in.

    This may be an overwhelming task for you as a beginner, so have patience with yourself. Any budget to hire a developer to get you up and running? That might be an easier and less expensive route in the long-run.
