Multiple Segregated Blogs

  • Hi All,

    I am very new to WordPress and have managed to build a few sites. I am now planning a new site and am wondering if WordPress is right. Since I am so new, I’m not sure where to start and if WordPress is right.

    I want to have a site with several Blogs. Each blog can have several child blogs and this goes down two levels. All children and grandchildren should be able to see the parent blog above them and the grandparent. Nobody from outside the family should be able to see the blog posts though. I want to have the users log in and they would be placed at the first parent blogs and then they an work their way down through the levels.

    Can this be done with WordPress or should I build this from scratch? Is the multisite feature the right one for this or is it ainly for separate sites all together?

    Can blogs be made private and only available to their children and immediate parent and/or grandparent?

  • You could do it if you use one of the multiple networks plugin to get the child blogs.

    The piracy, however, is on a blog by blog basis, but I think the couple plugins out there for extra privacy can make each network private unto itself.

    Go experiment with the plugins & see if they do what you want.
