Multiple Product Drop at the Same Time

Would love some feedback with a way to achieve this. The desire here is to do a product drop where items all go into stock at the same time, so that users do not have to wait for additional products to be released before completing their purchase.

Our issue is that we release limited numbers of highly sought after products, and we need to be able to have all those products go into stock at the same time.

My initial thought was that I could do a bulk edit of the products, and set their attributes in terms of stock qty, but have them as out of stock until such a time where I’d then do a bulk edit on those products and swap the stock status from Out of Stock to In Stock.

The problem is however, that when there is a stock qty set – the Stock Status field becomes unavailable/unused.

Any suggestions or plugin/function suggestions would be great.
