I’m looking for a filter plugin that allows to filter multiple post types at the same time. I wonder if there is a way to achieve this with Filter Everything (under “Post Type to Filter”) If not, I’m wondering if there is a fundamental reason this won’t work at all (I checked other plugins that don’t offer this either).

I created two post types for two kinds of publications. In some instances I want to be able to filter only type A OR B, in others A AND B. In hind site I realized I can do this with categories (the style differences between A and B are not as significant as anticipated).

    Any input welcome. Thank you.

    Hi @jimknopf128

Thank you for your interest in the Filter Everything plugin.

Yes, there is a reason for that. Mostly the filtering plugins working with the WP_Query on the page that displays need CPT/product posts.

Multiple post types = multiple queries, which adds confusion as it should work with two queries at the same time or more.

In theory, this is possible, but in practice, it will only lead to confusion and problems on the page. In the PRO version of the plugin, you can technically create multiple filter sets for different post types and apply them on the same page with all these different queries. And use the same filters in all filter sets, one after the other, identical, without any differences.

So you can filter everything with one set of filters, but the counters will be broken up, they won’t add up, so it will be more like blind filtering.

    Best Regards – Victor
