Each instance is loading for a different reason, but the pixel is less than 1 KB in size, so it won’t add anything beyond a fraction of a millisecond to your load time.

Thank you. Is there a way to determine what is generating each one? I don’t have this issue on any of my other WP sites so I assume I have things turned on that I need to turn off. I checked Debug mode in Jetpack and believe I have only the modules I need on at this time. Any additional information would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

Jetpack uses pixel.wp.com for its Stats module, but you could try disabling it here and see if that helps:

    https://www.inhouseblog.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack_modules
That way, you will lose your site stats from Jetpack, so it could be better if you try to find why is that file not loading for you as it should.

However, I am not experiencing the same issue with pixel.wp.com on this end. I don’t believe it is causing any loading issues. Let me know what you experience when you disable the feature.

    Thanks,

It is loading fine – the problem is that there are three loads per page load of a similar link – the poster above said it was three different reasons for it to load. I was trying to figure out why it would load 3 times so I could remove the other loads. My other WP sites do not load the pixel 3 times.

The pixel is loaded for stats tracker, and also for interactive WordPress.com features, like Jetpack Comments, and the Like Button.

Thank you. I use stats but not Comments or the Like button. So I’m still not sure why three are loading. The other items I am using are as follows – I think I have this same set at another site and it doesn’t load the gif.g three times.

    Asset CDN
    Custom CSS
    Enhanced Distribution
    Extra Sidebar Widgets
    Image CDN
    JSON API
    Lazy Images
    Monitor
    Protect
    Shortcode Embeds

    Hi there,

Whenever you disable stats module, does it lower it to two pixel.wp.com loads?

If you still have questions, we can have our Jetpack staff look further into what is going on with this issue. Please reach out to them here:

Oddly, turning off stats remove all three pixel loads altogether. So I think something must be amiss on this site. I also updated to the latest Jetpack and still see the same issue.
