• A single page-parent will not work for me. I want to be able to have pages with multiple page parents, just as posts can appear in multiple categories. Or something like that.

The setup of my site is this: I have a dozen movies or so, each with its own page. I also have about 50 cast member “profiles” for the people who appear in said movies. Most of them appear in more than one movie, some appear in as many as 10… When a user views the cast member profile page, a picture of the person comes up, and below that (or in the side bar) I want a list of the movies that person appears in. Therefore I would need multiple page-parents, or some other way of linking the pages to other, multiple pages, easily (as every time a new movie is posted I have to add that to all the member pages).

I am open to any other solutions… only I will not make them posts instead of pages, because I have a blog already alongside this site and that will interfere greatly with my navigation.

  • Simply put, you can’t. WordPress only allows a single parent per Page and would require massive recoding to make it able to have more than one probably.

If you really wanna use WordPress for this, I’d suggest making an overall category for this part of your site and then excluding it from your blog.

Then make sub-categories, one for each movie. Then you can easily use posts ofr this.

But probably custom coded software would probably be the best for this. Not saying WordPress couldn’t do it, it’s just not really what WordPress was designed to be for, so it’s not going to be the best for the job.
