    Hi all,

    Analysis of my website currently shows two different meta descriptions. A new one and and old one. I think I have narrowed down the issue to the social media plugin.

    This is a snippet of the source code for the homepage containing the old meta description and title.

    /><meta property=”og:title” content=”SFE Academy | Home | Health, Fitness & Exercise Courses & Qualifications”><meta name=”twitter:title” content=”SFE Academy | Home | Health, Fitness & Exercise Courses & Qualifications”><meta name=”twitter:card” content=”summary_large_image”> <script>(function(w,d,s,l,i){w[l]=w[l]||[];w[l].push({‘gtm.start’:
    new Date().getTime(),event:’gtm.js’});var f=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],
    j=d.createElement(s),dl=l!=’dataLayer’?’&l=’+l:”;j.async=true;j.src=
    https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtm.js?id=’+i+dl;f.parentNode.insertBefore(j,f);

    This is the new meta description and title also taken from the homepage source code.

    /><meta property=”og:description” content=”Earn More | Learn More | Get Qualified. We are one of the UK's leading providers of health & fitness courses & qualifications. Enrol Now

    1. Is it the plugin causing the issue?
    2. Ar there any fixes for it?

    N.B. I have unchecked this box so far: theme options – SEO – Generate Facebook and Twitter meta tags for title, description and image for sharing.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Thank you for reaching out.

    I don’t think our plugin is setting those meta descriptions. If you de-activate our plugin, and then clear cache (both in browser as well as in cache plugins if you have any installed), is the issue then solved?

    Hi Socialdude

    Thank you for your reply.

    I think I can conform that the plugin is not causing the issue with the multiple descriptions. The two descriptions still remain when the plugin is deactivated.

    No other social media plugin so not too sure what’s causing the issue.

    Thank you,

    Ok maybe you just continue the process of switching off the plugins one by one until you find the one which causes it?

    Hi all

    – Problem solved –

    If anyone else has the same issue, please see below for remedy:

    Cause: SEO plugin (Yoast) contained a section for homepage and meta description as did the wp theme. The title and description in each was different due to me tweaking one title and description but not the other.

    Solution 1: Amend both the theme and Yoast SEO plugin title and meta description so they match.

    Solution 2: Turn off theme SEO homepage title and meta description (if you can)

    Cool, thank you for pasting the solution here! Very mindful about others who have the same issue ??
