I really love this plugin and I think it is going to do what I need it to do if I can just get this one thing to work. I’ve got only TWO different types of users. I’ve added a field for “Type” with two options: “Veteran” and “Auxiliary.” I’ve set up several test users in each type. The first type of “Veteran” can login with no problem. But when I try to login one of the test users with a type of “Auxiliary” I get an error message of “Sorry, this content is only for those whose Type is Auxiliary.” I have quadruple checked to make sure all of my settings are correct with no typos and have tried multiple browsers in case it was a cookie issue. The member login is here: https://vfw3944.org/members/member-login/ ([moderated]) and the auxiliary login is here https://vfw3944.org/members/auxiliary/ ([moderated]). Please help! I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong and I really need to be able to use this second type. Thanks!

@bluetapp, Please don’t post login credentials here.

Those were just test logins. I’m just setting this up and there’s no sensitive information in there. They can be unmoderated please so that someone can actually help me out. Thanks!

(btw I’m not a moron… the plugin gives front end access to users, not backend access. The test logins did not allow backend access and the plugin is supposedly secure.)

Can someone help me with this issue? Thanks!

    Hi Blue,

Do you, by any chance, have your [login] shortcode wrapped in the [restricted][/restricted] shortcodes? Or do you have the page your login shortcode is on set to restricted using the “Front-End Users” area at the top right of the page edit screen?

I do not have the login shortcode wrapped in the restricted shortcodes. I am not seeing a Front-End Users area at the top of the page edit screen? The login page is set to Public.

    Hi BlueTapp,

Is it possible that you have created a custom field of type “Select Box”? If so, then there must have been issues with the input values. The most common error seen is that users will write the input values as followed:
    Veteran, Auxiliary rather than Veteran,Auxiliary

The issue here is that the whitespace that follows the comma is added onto the following String. This ultimately means that the type input is ” Auxiliary” rather than “Auxiliary”. The error could be found if users are added by spreadsheet, and when the shortcode is written to restrict Types.

Let us know if this was the issue.

If not, we may discuss about it more thoroughly via e-mails ([email protected]).

    Best regards,
