Multiple instances of pages appear when using search in Edit Pages

  • When I go to Edit Pages, and then try to search for a specific page, the search results contain 4 copies of this page. When I look through the list of pages to edit manually, there is only one copy of each page. Just a bit ago, I was searching for a page and now 5 copies of each search result appear.

    Does anyone know what could be causing this, and if it also signifies a greater underlying problem? Everything else seems to be working fine, but I don’t want to find out down the road that I could have prevented something terrible. Thanks!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
