Multiple installations of Global site tag detected

  • Hello,

    I have problem with the gtag.js. It seems that it has been installed on my website twice. But one of the IDs does not belong to my business. Can you please help me investigate that? How can I remove the gtag.js? And when I will already work only with Google Tag Manager should I remove the both global site tags?

    Hi,

    I can see two global site tag tracking codes in your site besides GTM4WP.
    One is loading a Google Analyitcs tracking, the other is loading a Google Ads remarketing tag.

    From here I can not tell you, how this is added to your site, I can give you some options though that you can check:
    – perhaps another plugin is adding this
    – there might be a more general “header & footer” plugin installed on your site
    – you may find those codes in the settings of your theme
    – it can be also added manually into the theme files (mostly found in header.php)
