    Hello,

I’ve been digging into some server logs and have found a large amount of HEAD request 404 errors from the “MeowApps-Retina” user agent.

The Retina app works alongside WP/LR Sync generated galleries and works great :).

Is there a cache associated with either the Retina or WP/LR Sync app? My suspicion is that these broken references are related to previous gallery restructuring (deletion of images, re-insertion, etc. in Lightroom).

Hoping to eliminate these dangling links with your help.

    Cheers,
    Cris

    Hi,

That’s how it works if you use the Retina JS method ?? The method is still available, but personally I don’t recommend using it (PictureFill or Responsive Image is much better).

There is no cache in Retina of WP/LR Sync, but there might be on your end.

    Hi Jordy,

    Thanks for the reply.

There is a caching backend alongside a reverse-proxy cache but they were disabled for the duration of the check.

I looked into the the Perfect Images -> Retina Delivery Settings panel. The delivery method was, as recommended, set to Responsive Images however the Over HTTP Check was enabled. Disabling the check stopped the HEAD requests and shaved off significant gallery load time.

    Thanks for the help!
    Cheers
