Multiple Guestbooks?

Hi, it is not really built into this plugin, and I am not sure if it will ever come.

DMSguestbook has it, but is since a year unmaintained.

You could use standard WordPress comments. That should be a sure way to have the posiibility.

Just wanting to let you know that I am thinking of a way to make this happen.
If you are not in a hurry, you could wait. It might be there in a few weeks.

You can use a shortcode of [gwolle_gb book_id=”2″] for a second guestbook.

Overall — excellent and super simple to use. You can see it at https://community.mactech.com/

A few things — and they are only suggestions if not difficult to do.

1) I’m not sure if it’s a new bug or an old one, but in reviewing the entires, there’s a doubling of the “page” number to go to the next page of list of entries. 2) It would be really useful if on that page you could add a column that would indicate which guestbook that an entry is in.

3) If you do add another column, it would even be helpful, but not critical, if you could click on the column header to sort … but that would be something you’d likely want to do across all the columns — and really is a separate request.

4) If not difficult, if you could allow the Edit guestbook entry page to let us change the guestbook that a post happens in, that could be useful as well.

5) There’s issues with Really Simple Captcha showing broken images. Several posts about it, and no responses by the developer. You may want to easily allow for other captcha plug-ins.

1) I cannot seem to download that image.
On my setup everything on the entries admin page seems normal.
Can you provide an image for people without dropbox account?

3) OK, but that is a bit more involved. I will look into that.

4) On the Editor page, you can change the number. At the metadata, just click on Edit.

5) Yes, but do you want the page cached or not ??
In the next version caching will be disabled when a Captcha is being used. So it should be seamless now.
I am not planning on offering more Captcha choices. I already think a Captcha is bad usability, and don’t want to advertise it as a good choice.
If there is an alternative, than it should be in using a nonce, and just dropping the Captcha alltogether.

Thank you the plugin you create ; it’s very nice ! I know we can have multiples guestbook in differents pages. I would like to have 6 guestbooks in 6 differents pages, but I can’t do it. As you said, I copied the shortcode [gwolle_gb book_id=”2″] in the second page, but it doesn’t work.
Do I have to add a special code in a php’s file ? If yes, which code and where ? Can you help me please ?

In fact, the “guestbook” works well on page 01, but has a different look on page 02. The “submit” button doesn’t exist on page 02 (so the message can’t be send) and we have blank and grey line on the background.

I’m employing qTranslate X and have two different guestbooks on the “en” and “en” versions of the guestbook page – they have a different content depending on the language:
[gwolle_gb book_id=”1″]
and, respectively:
[gwolle_gb book_id=”2″]

This works perfectly. However, where i’m hitting a problem is displaying and excerpt of guestbook entries with the “Gwolle Guestbook” widget. I can’t get it to show only the entries of a specific book_id. So my question is: is there a short-code for the widget / excerpt as well? What are the parameters?

Hi, that is a good question. It is added as a todo item. Soon you should be able to select a book_id in the widget. I will let you know here.

Alternatively you can use the gwolle_gb_read shortcode. The display is diferent from the widget however.
