Multiple galleries?

I’m bumping this one again, because it should have a simple answer (or at least documentation somewhere). It was specifically announced that multiple galleries per page were now allowed, but how do you do it?

Of course, I still don’t think you can exclude/include or set the number of images like you can with Cleaner Gallery:

how can it tell the difference between each gallery?

It sets up a static variable that iterates for each instance of the gallery.

If that is the case, then the creators should have promoted this as multiple galleries per page, as the 2.7 version could already do this. It would seem if you say, “Multiple galleries per post” it implies you can display images 1-10 in gallery 1, 11-20 in gallery 2, and so on.

And Cleaner-Gallery doesn’t work with Flexible Lightbox, so that solution is out too.

Anyone else know of a solution? This was the main reason for upgrading to wp2.8.

It makes no such implication. It simply means you can show multiple galleries in a single post/page.

Add this to a post (changing the IDs, of course):

[gallery id="105"]
[gallery id="102"]

It gives you two different galleries. That’s “multiple galleries.”

And Cleaner-Gallery doesn’t work with Flexible Lightbox, so that solution is out too.

You can always manually install Lightbox or find another plugin to do it for you.

I read it that way, too. Not being someone who works with code, it had no ambivalent meaning for me.

Am trying the looooong way around. Have deleted all the images I don’t want in the first gallery and have uploaded the first gallery without these images.

Now I am uploading the next batch of images. I suspect it will include the first batch in the second gallery, and even worse, it will add the second batch to the first gallery when I “save all changes”.

Hrrrmmppppph! But I persevere …

If it works, I’ll be back!

Okay! So, I was right. It has added the second batch to the first batch once I “saved all changes”. What to do? What to do? Wait for the next upgrade? Dunno …

Just a little modification is needed in the “multiple-galleries.js” file on the line 61 (commas between picture IDs):
$to_include += '' + $imgid + ',';

BTW. restart browser (in my case Firefox) after changing this line.
