I find great use in TablePress and I salute the genius behind this excellent plugin!

I have a problem that I can’t seem to solve, and maybe I ought to find a work-around.

I’m creating a music discography where
    Column A = Label
    Column B = Cat. No.
    Column C = Artist
    Column D = Title
Column E = Year of release
    Column F = Format
    Column G = Genre
    Column H = Instruments

I’m using the Column Filter Widgets on Column A, E, F and G. The other information is found by searching. But I’m not sure what to do about Column H. The idea is to for example find all the records where trumpets is used. If a cell in Column H contains all the instruments on the recording, I can’t set the Column Filter Widgets to use this cell, because it would read something like “Trumpets, Bass, Guitar, Drums” where I just want to pull the “trumpets” information. But if Column Filter Widgets would read Trumpets;Bass;Guitar,Drums as four different words in the same cell, it would work.

I could just ask for “trumpets” in a search, but that would also give me results for recordings with the word “trumpets” in their title.

    So – what to do?

    Never mind. I found the solution using separators: [table id=1 datatables_columnfilterwidgets=true datatables_columnfilterwidgets_separator=” / ” /]

    I’m now officially in Heaven!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble. Good to hear that you found this already!
Indeed, the separator parameter is the best solution here ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
