    Hi there, I can’t seem to find a possible solution for this. But I used CF7 on a client’s website, and now, for no reason, he is receiving duplicate mails from a single mail sent out. The form uses a capcha, so these are all legit email entries.

    Please can someone tell me if there is a solution to this?

  • Post the email headers of the email he received. Also post the Mail section of your Contact Form.

    Here is just one of the messages client received three times in the space of a minute:

    From: Mike Jennings <[email protected]>
    Subject: Services required

    Message Body:
    We are currently in the process of expanding our business and would like the input of a consultant.

    They are all legit leads, the mails just get sent in duplicate.

    Here is the Mail section of my contact form:

    To:
    [email protected]

    From:
    [your-name] <[email protected]>

    Subject:
    [your-subject]

    Additional Headers:
    Reply-To: [your-email]

    Message Body:
    From: [your-name] <[your-email]>
    Subject: [your-subject]

    Message Body:
    [your-message]


    This e-mail was sent from a contact form on Frank Vos (https://vosconsulting.co.za)

    Exclude lines with blank mail-tags from output, Use HTML content type & Use Mail(2) are not ticked.

    This form does not work for me. It keeps changing the four-character CAPTCHA each time I click send. is THAT why you get multiple copies? I assume you’ve tested the form yourself.

    Jason, that could in fact be the problem. I have sent client a message now asking if he had received multiple copies of the emails sent. The last time I tested it was before I put the tracking code into additional settings. I’ll run some more tests to see if it re-occurs without tracking, because then the question that needs to be asked is a different one. Thank you for your help!

    Ok, it is indeed the tracking code, it stops the “success/error” messages from coming up so users probably assume that the form didn’t work. But I need that tracking code in, and its a tracking code provided by CF7, so its weird that it stops the form messages from popping up…

    You should test every time you make changes to the live site. That’s best practice.

    Can you post the source of your Contact Form 7 configuration (the Form) tag. I haven’t heard of this Tracking Code, but if you post your form perhaps someone else can spot your error.

    Yes, thank you Jason.

    I have sorted it out, opted for a redirect to a thank you page that contains my tracking code as that is what my AdWords guy wanted. Thank you for the help, appreciate it!
