Multiple Domains and Subfolders

  • Hi,

    I’m wondering if there is any chance to have multiple blogs with addresses like

    company1.com/unit1
    company1.com/unit2
    company2.com
    company3.com/unit1
    company3.com/unit2

    in WPMU? Each of those should be a single blog in one WPMU installation. So I need a combination of domains and subfolders.

    Any ideas?

  • Yep, you need a multi-network plugin.

    Just make the original install a subfolder one, then create new networks within.

    Tanks Andrea for your quick reply. The plugin you suggested is for 3.0. I have 2.9.2 running with a few plugins installed. So I first have to test the upgrade to 3.0. Or do you know a similar plugin for 2.9.2?

    The multi network plugin looks interesting. Can I use it for domain mapping too? Or is it an addition to the domain mapping plugin?

    You can map a domain to the new network while you’re setting it up.

    And to blow your mind even further, you *could* use the domain mapping plugin to map one of those blogs. If you wanted. ??

    So, no you don’t need the domain mapping plugins as well. Unless you want a blog with a TLD with no child blogs.
