Multiple domains?

In my environment settings I’ve been using 2 domain controllers from 2 different domains in the forest. I’m just now noticing that your documentation says:
“Each IP must serve the same Active Directory domain.”
It seems to be working fine in my configuration though. What concerns are there for using multiple domains?
