multiple dates not showing

If i add an event from say like 1 april till 7 april it only shows 1 april on the calendar and the other dates are blank. Is there a way to make all the dates of that event shwoing on the mini calendar?

on the main page you see the minicalendar and on the 8th of april there is an event but it should be from 8 till 15th of april.
