• Heey everyone,

I am making a theme for my own website and I want multiple custom backgrounds, so the user can define the images, the reason that I want a background and not a normal image is because you get a nice scroll effect.

For example, I want a kind of site as:
    https://intergalacticdemo.wordpress.com/

By that Intergalactic theme is the custom background given in the .entry-background.

Does anyone know how to include multiple custom backgrounds in my theme?

    Greets,
    Joren

  • Hi Joren, you can download Intergalactic and study how it’s put together. Log into a WordPress.com account and click “Download Intergalactic for your self-hosted WordPress site” in the sidebar here:

    Yeah, I have tried that.
But the disadvantage of themes made by WordPress, is that their themes are really complicated and it takes a long time to understand it. I think the themes made by WordPress are very unclear.

Maybe someone knows how to do it? Or maybe someone knows a tutorial where the problem is explained?

I spoke with the Intergalactic developer, and while she doesn’t have a specific tutorial to recommend, she suggests studying the content-home.php file specifically to see how the individual post layout is done on the blog index. Hope this helps point you in the right direction.
